It’s not just because we like living here.

“Environmental protection begins right from the start: with the prevention of particulates and emissions”. But our production processes are also influenced by thoughts of the environment. That’s why Feinhütte Halsbrücke GmbH has been coming up with innovations such as the alternative solders for conventional tin and lead alloys that the company has been developing since 1998 and that have the same properties as their predecessors. In parallel to the introduction of oxygen technology, we have also converted the existing filter technology for our short barrel furnaces, and replaced it with significantly more efficient filters. All of the exhaust air and waste water generated by Feinhütte is also monitored on an ongoing basis using state-of-the-art analysis methods – with accuracy down to the pico-range.

Responsibility. Without compromise.

Like all metallurgy companies in the EU, Feinhütte Halsbrücke GmbH is also subject to strict requirements regarding environmental protection. Modern analytics technology allows us to carry out precise qualitative and quantitative measurements of all emissions. Exhaust air and waste water from our metallurgical plants must undergo treatment to eliminate all harmful substances.

Pilot project by the Ministry for the Environment

Out of responsibility

In 2011, the pilot project for a new filter system funded by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, and Nuclear Safety (BMU) was implemented at Feinhütte Halsbrücke GmbH. Thanks to an innovative system, we have reduced the total dust concentration in our production of non-ferrous metals to less than 1 milligram per cubic metre. A new two-stage additional filter has also been fitted downstream of the bag filter system in the form of a combination of surface and depth filters.

Additional environmental protection at Feinhütte

In addition to a recycling process based on state-of-the-art technology, we have taken extensive action to protect the environment.

Reforestation of unused areas

Since 1996, we have been actively engaged in reforestation of the tree population on the company grounds and beyond. This is not only environmentally friendly and positive for the soul, it also additionally binds CO2.

Photovoltaic systems for the company's own energy needs

Since 2013, we have been covering a large part of our necessary energy needs through our own photovoltaic system. The green electricity makes our products even more environmentally friendly. We are actively working towards CO2-neutral production.

Electrification of our vehicle fleet including our own charging infrastructure.

The company's own intelligent charging infrastructure ensures sufficient sunshine in the "tank" of our forklift and e-car fleet.
