Solder wire
Precise material feed without fluxDefinition & process potential
Solid solder wire consists exclusively of the respective alloy or high-quality pure metal without integrated flux. This design is used where flux is applied externally or controlled on a process-specific basis – particularly in automated production with high quality requirements.
Advantages of solid wire
Full process control over flux type and quantity
Minimised residues in subsequent surface processes
Greater flexibility for demanding soldering sequences
Reproducible soldering quality across large series runs
Typical industrial applications
We offer a wide range of lead free solder wire and lead-containing alloys as well as high-purity raw materials for manual soldering processes, automated piston soldering systems with separate flux supply and machine wave soldering processes with wire feed.
Areas of application for our soldering wire: telecommunications, industrial electronics, automotive electronics, consumer electronics, electromechanics, selective soldering systems, manual soldering

Lead-containing and lead-free solder wire
Clear demarcation for industrial applicationsLead-free solder wire is used in particular in regulated markets and sensitive applications, e.g. in the electronics industry in accordance with the RoHS Directive. It is characterised by higher melting temperatures and increased requirements for flux, wetting and process control.
Lead-containing solder wire offers excellent wetting properties, lower melting temperatures and high process robustness. It is preferred where permitted by regulations or technically appropriate.

What information is on the label?
All technical details can be found on the Feinhütte standard label on the left-hand side: weight, diameter, flux type, flux content and number of cores.
The lower section contains production-related information, i.e. alloy name, production batch and date, and our internal item number. The QR code on the right-hand side is for internal use only.
We use colour bars on the label to clearly and quickly distinguish between the different solder wires: red for lead-containing and green for lead-free.

What types of solder wire coils are available?
Coil colours
Most of our wires are coiled on green, red or black spools. The colour of the coils is used to indicate specific alloy types. Red coils usually stand for lead-containing alloys, green coils for lead-free alloys. Depending on customer requirements, we can also offer other coil colours, although not all coil types are available in different colours.

Coil sizes
The coil weights are selected or defined on the one hand depending on the respective wire diameter (Ø 0.5 mm as a 5000 g coil is technically impossible / Ø 8.0 mm on 100 g coils is also not feasible) – on the other hand, however, they are also determined by the type of processing, the type of machine/system and customer specifications.
Defined coil weights (net product weight) inevitably result in different coil dimensions, which often also have to be checked against the given technical requirements (do the coil holder and dimensions fit the unwinding/processing devices?).
Solder wire production under your brand
Commodities & Private LabelIn addition to our own product portfolio for the B2B and retail sectors, we also manufacture solder wire and solder as commercial goods on behalf of our customers. As an experienced partner, we supply well-known brands in the DIY sector and resellers – reliably, scalably and in consistently reproducible quality.
Production takes place under the respective customer brand (private label) and in accordance with defined technical, regulatory and logistical specifications. Our processes are designed to reliably map both near-series volumes and market-specific product requirements.
For B2B partners, resellers and trading companies, we are therefore a reliable production partner along the entire value chain – from metallurgical expertise to market-compliant product delivery.
Scope of services in private label business:
Manufacture of solid solder wire under customer brand names
Implementation of customer-specific layouts, wire diameters and coil weights
Reliable delivery capability and consistent product quality
Many years of experience in working with established brands
