Advantages of the circular economy: best practice examples from the electronics industry

This presentation uses specific examples from the electronics industry to show how the circular economy can be implemented in an economically viable way. The focus is not only on ecological arguments, but also on economic ones: using secondary raw materials can reduce costs and lessen dependence on global supply chains, while increasing security of supply. Drawing on the experience of a medium-sized metal processing company, the presentation demonstrates how residues can be transformed into valuable raw materials through processes such as take-back, recycling and reuse in alloys and products. Particular attention is given to the key role of tin. This presentation is aimed at decision-makers and experts in the electronics industry.
